Champion Salt sources bulk de-icing salt from around the globe. Our rock salt is produced specifically for Champion Salt, directly from the mines. There is no better quality salt available! We utilize our global resources to import our bulk salt into North America on dry-bulk ocean vessels. These vessels come into North America from the East Coast, Great Lakes and New Orleans. From New Orleans, we transload our salt into river barges and supply destinations across the Midwest.
Champion Salt uses only the highest quality rock salt. Our rock salt is double-screened to reduce fines, and our salt comports with ATSM D-632 specifications for grade 1, U.S. roadway de-icing rock salt. Our rock salt purity is over 98%, moisture content is typically under 1%, and sieve sizing is 12.5 mm and smaller.Learn More »
